
There are many interesting and ancient old trees in Dorset. This one is stranger than most. It looks as if it has real history. I could believe that people associate it with mysteries. It has many nooks, crannies and faces. It has been known to hold secrets.
N.B. This posting is in response to comments made on yesterday’s blog entry about beach glass. There was a discussion about messages left in different places like glass bottles on the beach or hidden in trees – like the one illustrated here.

Wow – don’t think I have ever seen a tree quite like that before.

I’m told the tree is a ’simulacrum’ because of the faces you can imagine in the contorted wood.
