Oyster Shells at Whiteford 25.07.13 (2) – Oyster shell (Ostrea edulis Linnaeus) on the beach at Whiteford Sands, Gower, South Wales, moderately worn thick left valve, outer surface, showing orange and black burial staining overlying red natural colour bands in the shell, and slight epibiont infestation damage in the form of small holes made by marine polychaete worms – probably Polydora ciliata.
